Dancing at the Hop – Soroptimists of Rugby host 1950’s Night

Duchurch Village Hall played host to a night of big bands and retro fashions as the Rugby branch of the Soroptimists hosted a fabulous Fifites-themed charity night.
The band was in full swing as ladies in flowing dresses glided across the dance floor. Hits from the 50’s were played with style from the Lawrence Sheriff Jazz Band. The event was organised by the Rugby branch of the Soroptimist International group. The Soroptimists are the world’s largest women’s service organisation with Consultative Status at the United Nations.
The Rugby club was founded in 1936 and has given nearly 80 years of service to our community. All proceeds from the night go to the Hill Street Youth and Community Centre’s summer school scheme.
